Three things I care about.

The work I do every day intersects data, AI, human development and social good.

Data engineering

Pipelines, warehouses, ETL

Designing and building data pipelines, warehouses and processing systems. From messy raw sources to clean, queryable, useful data. My MSc dissertation sits in this space and won Distinction and the NUST Book Prize.

AI engineering

LLM integration, offline-first AI, automation

Building practical AI systems, not just running models: LLM integrations, offline-first AI for low-connectivity settings, and AI-augmented workflows. Recognised as AI Champion for MCC's SCAN region.

Technology for social good

Peacebuilding, education, low-resource settings

Technology only matters if it reaches the people who need it. I build for communities in Zimbabwe and beyond, designing and developing system architectures for low-resource environments, and I work with peacebuilding organisations across Africa.

Where I have been.

Each experience built on the one before it.

  1. Now

    Technology and Peacebuilding Officer

Leading technology integration for peacebuilding programmes across Africa. I have trained MCC staff on the fundamentals of AI, demystifying AI, and the future of AI in the workplace. INSIGHT Regional Trainer for the SCAN region, MCC's programme and project management system.

AI Champion, SCAN region INSIGHT Regional Trainer Full-time since Oct 2024

Joined API in January 2021 to build and manage digital infrastructure for peacebuilding work. Built Amani LMS, a learning management PWA serving programme participants across multiple African countries.

  5. 2019

    Technology Assistant (IVEP)

    Dock Mennonite Academy, Pennsylvania, USA

Served a full academic year as Technology Assistant through MCC's International Volunteer Exchange Program, managing school technology infrastructure and supporting digital learning programmes.

  6. 2018

    Lead WordPress Developer

    GoDigital Zimbabwe

Led WordPress development at GoDigital Zimbabwe, putting my Computer Science foundation to work on real websites, themes and client builds.

  7. 2018

Federated Sentiment Analysis on Clinical Narratives: An Empirical Evaluation of Privacy-Preserving Machine Learning Across Distributed Electronic Health Record Environments

F. M. Dandure and B. Ndlovu

Submitted to the Indonesian Journal of Innovation and Applied Sciences (IJIAS)

The empirical follow-on to the review below. Five hospital data silos were simulated on 4,966 real clinical transcriptions; federated training reached 84.94% accuracy without centralising any patient data, while differential privacy exposed a steep privacy and accuracy trade-off. It sets the first empirical benchmark for privacy-preserving federated sentiment analysis on clinical text.

Federated Learning for Privacy-Preserving Sentiment Analysis in Distributed Electronic Health Record Environments: A Systematic Literature Review

F. M. Dandure and B. Ndlovu

Journal of Information Systems and Informatics, vol. 8, no. 2, pp. 1812 to 1842, April 2026

A PRISMA 2020 review of 29 empirical studies. Federated learning in healthcare is maturing for structured prediction, while sentiment analysis of clinical narratives remains early; the paper proposes a governance-aware framework for future work.

Foetal Health Status Prediction: A Systematic Literature Review

S. Dube, F. Kabanda, M. Tubili, C. Mhlanga, F. Dandure, S. P. Dube and A. Coffee

6th African IEOM Conference, Rabat, Morocco, April 2025

A PRISMA review of 42 studies on machine learning for foetal health prediction, examining accuracy alongside data variability, generalisability and algorithmic bias.
